Jen Deubler’s dedication to environmental stewardship began when she discovered Ocean Hour on social media and embraced its mission to “defend our natural environment and wildlife by promoting a clean, peaceful, and fulfilling existence through community involvement and education.” She has played a key role in large-scale cleanups and the Borrow-Bins program, which promotes sustainable reuse at local beaches. Reflecting on the impact of collective action, Jen recalls a proud moment when her team “filled an entire roll-off dumpster clearing out an abandoned encampment – not just once, but twice.”
Her passion for sustainability also inspired her to establish a business producing eco-friendly products. Despite challenges such as limited resources and volunteer support, Jen remains optimistic, reminding others that “change needs to happen on a level we can do on our own.” She hopes to motivate her community to “get out there and do it once, because once started, you’ll continue to do it,” leaving a legacy of environmental care and sustainable practices for future generations.
