Gulf Coast Diplomacy’s Youth Diplomats spent their September meeting exploring emerging technologies, strengthening communication skills, and learning from international professionals.
Four Indian professionals participating in the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) joined the students for a discussion about artificial intelligence, its applications, and its growing influence on education and the workforce. The conversation also offered students an opportunity to learn about India and exchange perspectives with their guests. Meridian International coordinated the Indians’ national exchange.
In a separate session, a contract liaison with the U.S. Department of State IVLP led an interactive exploration of intercultural communication, helping students recognize how cultural perspectives influence communication and professional relationships.
Through these experiences, the Youth Diplomats program develops practical leadership and communication skills while introducing Northwest Florida students to emerging career fields and international perspectives. Opportunities to engage directly with exchange professionals bring an added dimension to their education, connecting classroom learning with real-world experiences.
