Volunteer with Gulf Coast Diplomacy

Volunteers play an important role in supporting Gulf Coast Diplomacy’s international exchange programs. Our organization was founded by community volunteers, and we continue to rely on local residents and professionals who are interested in participating in educational and cultural exchange with international visitors.

Volunteer opportunities are designed to support dialogue, cultural sharing, and community engagement in ways that are consistent with exchange guidelines.

Meet the Visitors

One goal of our exchange programming is to introduce international visitors to everyday life in Northwest Florida. Volunteers may participate in approved activities that offer opportunities for informal conversation and cultural exchange, whether through home-based hospitality, shared activities, or community outings coordinated by Gulf Coast Diplomacy.

Activities are flexible and designed to accommodate a range of schedules and interests. All interactions with visitors are coordinated in advance and follow established program guidelines.

Dine with the Visitors

Shared meals are a meaningful way to support cultural exchange. Volunteers may choose to host informal meals such as picnics, barbecues, or casual dinners in their homes as part of structured hospitality programming.

Gulf Coast Diplomacy coordinates these activities and, when appropriate, assigns small groups of international visitors to each host household. Interpreters may be provided when needed. These meals are intended to offer visitors a glimpse into everyday community life.

Volunteer in Our Office

Volunteers may also assist with administrative and program-related tasks, such as preparing mailings, supporting membership events, or helping with community programs. Local professionals are welcome to participate in community coffees and other approved events that support exchange programming.

We welcome ideas from volunteers on how they would like to contribute their time and skills in ways that align with our mission.

Intern with Us

Gulf Coast Diplomacy offers internship opportunities for university students interested in learning about international exchange and nonprofit programming. Interns support research, writing, and program coordination related to educational and professional exchange activities. Internships are designed as learning experiences and do not imply employment or career placement.

Youth Participation

High school students may participate in volunteer activities only through approved youth programs and under appropriate supervision. Youth participation is coordinated through established educational initiatives and follows all applicable guidelines.
