Daryan “Dare” Rose-Havens

Daryan “Dare” Rose-Havens has built a life of service rooted in compassion and community support. A librarian in her 20s, she devotes much of her time to the Amazing Grace Bully Rescue in Pensacola, where she cleans kennels and fosters animals in need of homes. Her motivation comes from the belief that “we as a society work best when we work to support each other, and everybody benefits when we’re working together to help each other. I continue to volunteer and support my local community because I want to see it grow, thrive, and be a safe, healthy environment for all.”

Her commitment to animal rescue extends beyond shelters; she provides supplies, transportation, and temporary homes for animals to keep them out of kill shelters. As she explains, “a big portion of doing service work is to (hopefully) shed light and educate others on something that could benefit from societal help.” Inspired by the support her family received when she was a NICU baby—when her mother stayed at a Ronald McDonald House—Dare continues to give back, stating, “volunteering with local organizations was (and is) a great way to learn about and from people in the community.” From fostering animals to building community connections, Dare shows that service is both a responsibility and a gift.
