Letter from a Youth Ambassador
It’s always a pleasure to hear from program alumni. In early 2022, Youth Ambassador Joanna Sánchez, a teenager from Nicaragua, reached out to give us an update.
Today is a really important day for me because I made come true a dream I was working very hard to achieve. It is called “learnwithJoa,” and I wanted to share it with you.
My experience being part of the Youth Ambassadors Program made me realize that I needed to start working on the things and projects that I like. Because of the opportunity, Youth Ambassadors and Gulf Coast Diplomacy gave me to be part of them, now I can say I feel more comfortable with myself, and proof of it is that I just created my own “English Virtual Academy,” with the name “learnwithJoa.”
During my time in the program, I was called “an Ambassador.” But, what does an Ambassador do? I knew I couldn’t just stay at home sleeping in my free time, I needed to go one step forward because that’s what a leader does, and you, Youth Ambassadors, taught me that important lesson.
I feel pretty blessed since without you I don’t know if I could have done this, you played an indispensable role behind learnwithJoa.
I’d be honored if you would visit my YouTube Channel.
