A Note from Russia

Just a couple of weeks ago I’ve been in my parent’s place in Northern Caucasus and took a photo of my Pensacola citizenship! Can you believe? I wanted to give an idea for a local mayor to make something like your residence certificates for visitors of honour in our village.

Right now I don’t stay in touch with anyone from your state. But anyway IVLP and visits to your centres influenced me so much! Now I understand much more how many challenges we have in our society and how much we can do to change it.

If I don’t mistake we assisted to a free lunch for local people in difficult situations in Florida. It’s such a simple and important step for local society that someone just next door is struggling and suffering. In my native place, this is not possible for example.

Anyway, I live in Milan, Italy since 2014. I moved there from Russia for studying and now I have my Italian husband and little daughter.

Since 2017 I organise a summer camp for children in my village in Northern Caucasus, Russia. And it’s a very successful project. It’s a charity and we offer an 11-day free program for local children. Maybe this year we will work in 4 regions.

And even this project has very strong impact from my IVLP program.

I’m very grateful for all your efforts and your way of sharing very cool experience to the people like me.

Please let me know if one day you plan to visit Italy or Russia. And if you give me your address children from my camp will send you a postcard. It’s our small tradition – we send postcards to our friends all around the world.
